Four materials, four ways of living.
These notes describe common qualities, not the exact composition of every product. Fibre blends, construction and finishes can change how a material feels and behaves.
Washed cotton
Relaxed, breathable, softly textured
A washed finish gives cotton an easy hand and a surface that need not look perfectly pressed. Weight, weave and blends will change how each piece behaves.
Keep in mind
Wash with similar colours using the temperature on the care label. Remove promptly after washing and avoid excessive heat, which can affect size, colour and hand feel.
TENCEL™ Lyocell
Smooth, fluid, cool to the touch
Lyocell is a cellulose-based fibre known for a smooth hand and fluid drape. Blend percentages affect both feel and care.
Keep in mind
Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent when the label permits machine washing. Avoid high heat and rough handling while wet. TENCEL™ is a trademark of Lenzing AG.
Fleece
Warm, brushed, made for ease
Fleece describes a soft raised surface rather than one fixed fibre. Warmth, weight and composition can vary widely.
Keep in mind
Wash inside out with similar colours when instructed. Skip high heat, fabric softener and rough surfaces when possible, as they may change the brushed face over time.
Velvet
Soft pile, shifting light, directional sheen
Velvet is defined by its pile. Light catches that surface differently as the fibres move, so shade and sheen can appear to change across the same piece.
Keep in mind
Do not press or rub the pile aggressively. Blot spills promptly and follow the product label for cleaning. Store without crushing the surface for long periods.

Begin with the sewn-in label. When general guidance differs from the instructions supplied with your item, follow the item instructions.
Washing
Separate with purpose.
Sort by colour and care requirement, close fastenings and turn delicate surfaces inside out. Use only the cycle, temperature and cleaning method named on the label.
Drying
Let heat stay modest.
Reshape while damp when appropriate. Air dry or tumble dry only as directed, since prolonged heat can alter dimensions, fibres and surface texture.
Storing
Put away clean and dry.
Allow textiles to dry fully before folding. Store in a cool, ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and pressure that can mark raised or delicate surfaces.
Size & fit
Start with the product, not a universal chart.
Bedding, garments and home textiles do not share one useful sizing standard. Compare the Size Guide on the item you are considering with the bed, body or space it needs to fit, allowing for the way you want it to sit or drape.
