Description
A little drama at the edges makes this quiet bed feel special. Fine pale stripes meet deep charcoal ruffles, with the softly crinkled double gauze cotton keeping the contrast relaxed. The result has the charm of an old country bedroom without feeling precious: inviting folds, generous borders, and a pattern that is easy to live with every day.
Place a charcoal cushion against the pillows to pick up the dark ruffles, keeping its shape simple so the gathered edges stay visible. Beside the bed, a warm oak table balances the cool striped fabric with a solid, grainy surface; a small table leaves the broad bedding border room to fall.
- Cotton comfort: Double gauze cotton brings a soft, gently crinkled feel that suits a relaxed bed without requiring a perfectly smooth finish.
- Quiet pattern: Fine stripes give the pale fabric subtle detail, making it easy to combine with plain cushions and existing bedroom furniture.
- Gathered edges: Dark ruffles frame the duvet cover and pillowcases, adding shape and contrast even when the rest of the room is simple.
- Coordinated contrast: The dark sheet and pale patterned layers create a considered combination, with enough distinction to keep each part visible.

Stripes, charcoal ruffles, crinkled gauze.
Early spring to late autumn
It works from early spring to late autumn, and in winter I add a heavier layer beneath it.
Ruffle tightens with a heavy quilt
The cover suits our insert, though a heavy quilt inside tightens the gathered edge along the top.
Ruffle missing on the flat sheet
Really pleased with it. I would have liked the ruffle on the flat sheet too, but the set is otherwise complete.
For my brother's cottage
Bought a set for my brother's cottage and he says it suits the room better than his old bedding.
One cushion is enough
The charcoal cushion is the only extra layer it needs; anything more would fight the ruffles.
Border falls evenly
It fits our bed properly and the broad border falls to the floor evenly on both sides.
On the bed since March
Light enough for summer and warm enough for spring, which is why it has been on the bed since March.
Lovely contrast, though the ruffles need a shake after washing.
Needs a deep mattress
Medium fits our double bed, though the generous border means you need a deep mattress for it to fall properly.
Soft crinkle, holds shape
The double gauze is softly crinkled and light against the skin, and the ruffles keep their shape.
Old country charm
It has the charm of an old country bedroom without feeling precious or too dressed up.
Pale stripes, deep charcoal ruffles, soft crinkle.
A lot of drama for a spare room
My sister liked it enough to ask, though she thought the ruffle border was a lot of drama for a spare room.
Sharper contrast than the photos
The charcoal is deeper and the stripes finer than the photos, which makes the contrast sharper on the bed.
Second set after spring
Bought a second set after the first one stayed on the bed through the whole of spring.
Charcoal cushion picks up the ruffle
A charcoal cushion against the pillows picks up the dark ruffles and keeps the shape simple enough to let the gathering show.
I didn’t expect the stripes to blend so nicely with my wood furniture. It makes the space feel warmer. The duvet cover is lightweight but still feels substantial.
So calming
I love how peaceful this bedding feels. Every night it makes the room feel softer and more put together.
Super comfy
The washed cotton feels soft and airy. I thought the ruffles might be too much but they actually look really cute. It gives my room a relaxed, lived-in vibe.
Soft and elegant
This bedding surprised me with how soft the washed cotton feels. The grey-blue pinstripe looks super calming in my room and the black ruffled edge adds a really pretty contrast. It makes my bed look styled even when I don’t try.
Love this set
This is honestly the coziest bedding I’ve bought in a long time. The fabric feels soft every time I touch it and it hasn’t irritated my skin at all.
Really happy with this purchase. Easy to wash, dries quickly, and the stripe pattern hides wrinkles well.
The texture is exactly what I wanted — breathable but still has that cozy weight. I love how it drapes over the bed. The stripes look cleaner in person than I expected.
The color looks slightly lighter than the photos but still very pretty. It brightens my room without being too cold-toned.
