Better in the shoulder seasons
It works well through spring and autumn, though in the middle of summer we found the washed cotton warmer than a plain cotton cover.

Description
Fine dark stripes travel across a pale cotton ground, bringing a clear, graphic rhythm to the bed. The washed finish keeps the lines from feeling too formal, with gentle creases and loose folds giving the surface a lived-in character. It is an easy starting point for a bedroom that balances strong contrasts with soft, everyday comfort.
Pair the striped bedding with a plain charcoal cushion and a warm oak bedside table. The solid cushion gives the eye somewhere to rest, while the natural wood takes the edge off the monochrome pattern. Keep additional prints small and understated.
- Washed cotton: A gently creased surface gives this bedding an inviting, relaxed appearance that works beautifully with loosely arranged layers.
- Fine pinstripes: Slim dark lines create a simple graphic pattern, adding definition to the bed without a dense ornamental print.
- Pale ground: The light base leaves breathing space between the stripes, helping the pattern feel open across the duvet and pillows.
- Easy styling: The restrained stripe design pairs naturally with solid cushions, textured throws and simple furniture for a balanced bedroom.

Wish for a smaller size
The print and the washed finish are lovely, and the only thing I would add is a smaller option for the single bed in the study.
The pale ground with dark lines is quieter than I pictured, though it marks easily.
No extra sheet offered
The set is well made and the stripes are exactly right, though I would have liked the option to buy an extra flat sheet.
Insert stays in place
The cover holds the insert well and the corners stay filled, so the stripes stay straight rather than slipping to one side.
Right on a deep mattress
Our deep mattress is well covered by the fitted sheet, and the corners stay tucked without the stretching we expected.
It gives a plain bedroom a little structure without any fuss.
Texture like the photos
The washed finish and the visible creases match the listing, and the stripes are the same fine width on the bed as on screen.
The stripes are finer and the cotton far softer than the set it replaced.
Ordered a second set
I bought another set for the spare room after a season with the first, though the second arrived a shade paler than the original.
Stripes run straight
The fine lines run evenly across the duvet and the pillows, though on one pillowcase the seams cut a stripe slightly off.
Kept to the main bedroom
It has stayed on our main bed since spring, and the monochrome stripes suit that room's plain walls and oak furniture.
Cushion picks up the lines
A plain charcoal cushion echoes the dark stripes without adding pattern, though a patterned cushion quickly crowds the bed.
Gift for a friend
I sent a set to a friend for her new flat and she likes the stripes, and she has asked about a matching cushion since.
Washed cotton, fine dark pinstripes, pale ground, gently creased.
Stored over summer
It folded away when the weather warmed up, though the pale ground holds a light fold line if it is stacked under heavier bedding.
Softer than expected
I expected a crisp striped cotton and the washed finish is much softer, closer to something worn for a season than new bedding.
Deep pockets are fine
The fitted sheet reaches under our thick mattress comfortably, though the flat sheet that came with the spare set is a little short.
Good on humid nights
It stayed comfortable through a humid spell and did not cling, and with a lighter insert it works well on the warmer nights too.
Adds structure without fuss
Washed white sheets underneath and a plain oak table suit the pinstripes best, though a patterned throw soon makes the bed look busy.
Guests asked about the stripes
Our guests said the fine stripes made the room look considered, and one asked where the bedding was from before leaving.
The dark pinstripes look calm at night, though the pale ground picks up shadows from the lamp.
