Description
A soft ruffle and a narrow lace border give Elderfield its gentle, lived-in character. Cocoa brown offers a deeper neutral, while cream beige feels lighter with its taupe trim. Both cotton-linen blends have an easy, textured drape that suits an unhurried room, where a simple bed frame and a few familiar pieces can feel like enough.
Pair cocoa with warm ivory and darker wood, or let cream beige sit beside pale walls and a natural wooden bedside table. Plain cushions keep the gathered edges visible. The layered trim adds detail without needing another strong pattern across the bed.
- Cotton-linen blends: Cocoa Brown is 98% cotton and 2% linen; Cream Beige is 72% cotton and 28% linen.
- Decorative edging: Gathered ruffles and pale lace frame the duvet and matching pillowcases.
- Two neutrals: Choose deeper cocoa brown or light cream beige with taupe trim.
- Room pairing: Plain cushions and natural wood complement the textured bedding.

Cotton-linen, soft ruffle, narrow lace border.
Used from spring onwards
From spring into early autumn it suits this place, and a heavier insert takes it into the cooler weeks.
It gives a plain bed a gentle, lived-in finish.
Quiet from afar, detailed close
From across the room the bed reads as plain soft bedding, and the lace border only becomes clear up close.
Looks like the listing
The soft ruffle and the narrow lace border match the listing closely, and the colour is a shade warmer on the bed.
A friend asked for the link
A guest who stayed the weekend asked about it and has since ordered a set of her own.
Better than our old set
It fits our mattress the way our last set never did, covering both sides instead of slipping.
A crease from packing
A light packing crease showed on the duvet at first, and it dropped out after a couple of nights.
Washed up well
It came through the first wash with the lace still flat and the colour even, and it feels softer than before.
Bought another after gifting
After gifting one I bought the same set for us, since the lace edge sits well in a cottage and a plain room.
Keep the room simple
It sits well with a simple bed frame and a few familiar pieces, and the lace border does the decorating.
On the bed most of the year
Here it covers spring through autumn, then goes back on the shelf for the hottest stretch.
Lies flat once made
With the bed made up, the cover lies flat and the lace border falls softly over the sides.
Insert shifts slightly
The cover holds the insert well overall, though the linen blend is soft and the duvet drifts down a little.
The lace edge makes the evening feel gentle, though the fabric shows creases.
Layering needs restraint
One plain throw over the foot suits the lace border, and another pattern starts to clutter the bed.
The lace is finer and the cotton-linen softer than the trimmed set before.
