Smooth but needs ironing
The long-staple cotton feels smooth and cool on the skin, though it creases in the wash and the ruffle looks better after a light press.

Extra layer in a cold week
In the coldest week we tucked a wool blanket under the cover and the cotton took the extra layer without the ruffles flattening.
Details line up across the set
The gathered ruffle runs evenly around the duvet and both pillowcases, and the tonal bows sit at matching points without looking placed.
My mother asked where it came from
My mother stayed over and asked where the ivory set came from, and she has since ordered one for her own guest room.
Hangs nicely on our bed
The duvet hangs evenly on both sides and the ruffled edge falls straight rather than curling, so the bed looks properly dressed.
Best for spring and autumn
It is lovely in spring and autumn with a light quilt, though in the middle of summer we found the cotton warmer than we wanted.
Bows echo the lampshade
The tonal bows sit quietly against the ivory, and the same warm tone ties in with our plain linen lampshade and the pale walls.
Ivory a shade warmer in person
The ruffle detail matches the listing closely, and the ivory reads a shade warmer in our bedroom light than it does on screen.
The ivory corner of the room looks gentle every morning when I open the curtains.
The ruffles are softer and less frilly in person than the listing suggested.
Right with a medium insert
It sits nicely over a medium-weight insert, though with our thicker winter duvet the ruffles pull slightly and the cover looks tighter.
Kept in the main bedroom
It stays on our main bed because the ivory suits the room, though with two of us using it the ruffles do need straightening most mornings.
Long-staple cotton, tonal bows, gathered ruffle, warm ivory.
Wish for a king option
The ivory ruffle is exactly the romantic finish I wanted, and the only thing I would add is a larger size to fit our king bed.
