Keep the nightstand simple
It looks best with a plain ivory fitted sheet and almost nothing on the nightstand, since the floral already does all the work.
Used across most of the year
It stays on from spring through to autumn and comes out again in milder winters, so it earns its place in the cupboard.
A light crease from packing
It arrived with a soft fold across one sham that took a few days to drop out, though everything else was perfect on opening.
Smooth but not slippery
The sateen feels smooth and cool on the skin, though the cotton-linen does crease visibly across the middle of the bed during the week.
Extra layer in a cold week
In the cold week we added a wool blanket over the top, and the cover took it well, though on its own it is not enough for deep winter.
Print runs consistently
The floral repeats evenly across the duvet and both shams, and the ribbon ties are set at matching points with no loose stitching.
Colour has held up
After several washes the yarn-dyed floral has kept its depth and has not washed out flat, and the sateen has stayed smooth.
Hangs well at the sides
The duvet hangs evenly on both sides with a nice drop at the foot, and the cotton-linen falls heavily rather than floating.
Softer and more muted in person than the preview suggested, which pleases me.
Right with a medium insert
It sits smoothly over a medium-weight insert and the zipper keeps the corners neat, so the duvet holds its shape without ties to fiddle with.
The corner of the room looks collected rather than decorated when the floral is on the bed.
Wish for a larger size
The print and the sateen finish are lovely, and the only thing I would add is an even larger size to fit our wider bed properly.
Mauve ties in with the curtains
Mauve sits nicely with our linen curtains, and the dune-toned ground keeps the floral calm beside the pale wooden furniture in the room.
Housewarming gift
I gave a set as a housewarming present and the couple were delighted, though I had to guess their bed size and got it slightly wrong.
