Added a set for the guest room
We liked the first set enough to order another for the guest room, and the two rooms now look related without matching exactly.
The ruffle detail is soft enough to live with on a plain bed.

My sister asked about the set when she stayed, though she thought the ruffles might be too decorative for her plain room.
Hangs nicely at the sides
The duvet hangs evenly on both sides with a soft drop at the foot, and the ruffled edge falls straight rather than curling.
Runner should stay plain
A plain cream runner across the foot suits the ruffles, though a patterned runner competes with them and looks crowded.
Check the pillow size
The duvet size suited our bed, though the pillowcases are generous and our standard pillows sit a little loose inside them.
Extra layer in the cold week
In the coldest week we tucked a wool blanket under the cover, and the gauze took the extra weight without the ruffles flattening.
Better with pale furniture
It works best with pale wood and a plain cream throw, though beside dark furniture the ruffle detail loses some of its softness.
Colour has kept well
After several washes the colour has stayed even and the ruffles have kept their shape, so it still looks like the day it arrived.
Soft and airy on the skin
The double gauze feels soft and airy against the skin, and it has softened further after the first two washes.
Wish for a larger size
The set is charming and the gauze is lovely, and the only thing I would add is a larger size for our wider bed.

The gauze is softer and much lighter than the cotton set it replaced.
The soft ruffles at the corner of the bed make the room feel gentler in the evening.
Ruffle width varies slightly
The ruffles run evenly along the duvet and the pillows, though one pillowcase ruffle is a fraction wider than the other.
Good between seasons
It works through spring and early autumn with a light quilt, and it stays breathable even on the warmer nights in between.
Looks like the photos
The ruffled trim and the gauze texture match the listing closely, and the colour is a shade softer in our bedroom light.
